Prytanean
The Prytanean Honor Society is the oldest collegiate women’s honors society in the United States, founded at UC Berkeley in 1901. The three female founders primarily focused on issues in student health care and housing, making significant improvements to student life via establishments such as the Tang Center. The organization has since expanded to funding awards and providing support for outstanding scholarship and volunteer work on behalf of the University. Founded by Cal women and run by Cal women, Prytanean is the emblem of high quality scholars and leaders who aim to make a difference in the world.
Who Are We?
Alumnae
The Prytanean Honor's Society is supported by a vast network of alumnae, many of whom reside in the Bay area. We host events with our alumnae every semester, including brunch, career panels, and our Spring tea party. There is also a vast alumnae network at our Davis chapter. If you are an alum and interested in getting involved, please contact us!

Officers
President
Sophia is a 3rd-year studying Psychology and Education. She has been in Prytanean since freshman year and it has been a great bonding experience with fellow women and her mother, who was also a Prytanean. In her free time, Sophia enjoys baking & gymnastics!
Vice President
Josephine is a fourth-year MEB student. Her hobbies include traveling, going on long walks, trying new restaurants and watching K-Dramas. This will be her third year in Prytanean, and she is super excited to see everyone back for the school year!
Alumnae Relations
Katie is a junior majoring in Chemical Biology who joined Prytanean her freshman year. Outside of academics, she enjoys reading, hiking, and baking. A fun fact is that Katie's sister was on the board of the UC Davis chapter of Prytanean!
Treasurer
Tia is a junior majoring in Environmental Economics and Business Administration. She enjoys exploring Berkeley and finding good coffee spots in her free time. She joined Prytanean during her frehman fall and has since found a strong sense of community within the organization.
Secretary
Kathleen is a fourth-year majoring in Psychology and minoring in Political Economy. She joined Prytanean her junior year to find a community of women that reminded her of her years in Girl Scouts. She is looking forward to doing philanthropy and volunteering events with all the new members this fall!
Public Relations
Anusha is a junior studying Economics with a focus on Quantitative Economics and Econometrics. Outside of academics, she enjoys exploring new cities, sharing good food, and unwinding with music, sports, and movie nights. She joined Prytanean in Sophomore fall and has loved being surrounded by such motivated girls.
Community Outreach
Alex is a junior majoring in Environmental Science with a concentration in Health & Politics. This summer, she worked at an Environmental Science organization that restores native habitats. This year, she is looking forward to working on a women's health initiative for Prytanean.

We accept academically driven female-identifying undergraduate students at UC Berkeley who are interested in upholding our values of scholarship, leadership, and service.
If you have a 3.25 GPA or above and believe you embody what we are looking for in a female honors student, please apply in January!
